Winter & Holiday Gifts

Herb Olive Oils
Yields 2 cups

2 cups olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh herb of choice
Basil, thyme, rosemary, sage or oregano
1/2 teaspoon fresh sea salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh coarse ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Combine all ingredients in a bottle or jar. Seal and keep for up to 8 weeks.Decorate with ribbon, stickers or offer a recipe card.

Herb Olive Oil and Pasta
1 pound fresh cooked pasta, cooked according to directions
1/2 cup Herb Olive oil
1/2 cup fresh goat cheese, crumbled

Toss pasta with Herb Olive Oil and goat cheese. Serve warm with a red wine or ale.

Herbed Vinegar
Yields 2 cups

2 cups Apple Cider Vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh Thyme
1/2 teaspoon fresh sea salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh coarse ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Combine all ingredients in a bottle or jar. Seal and keep for up to 8 weeks. Decorate with ribbon, stickers or offer a recipe card.

Drizzle over fresh baked bread or foccocia and serve with a rich red wine or ale.

Holiday Tea Blends
Yields 2 cups

Holiday Tea Blend
4 sticks cinnamon, crushed into chunks
1 cup dried apple slices, crushed into chunks
1/4 cup orange peel
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/4 cup dried ginger
1/2 cup fennel


Add 1 teaspoon tea blend to
2 cups hot water
Steep tea for 2-4 minutes and serve warm.

Lavender Rose Tea Blend
1 cup dried lavendar
1 cup Rose Buds

Lavender Rose Tea Blend
1 cup dried lavendar
1 cup Rose Buds

Mint Rose Tea Blend
1 cups dried Mint, whole or crushed
1 cups Rose Buds, smaller the better

Lemon Verbena and Rose
1 cup Lemon Verbena leaves, whole or crushed
1 cups Rose Buds, the smaller the better

Black Tea with Orange Zest
1 1/2 cups Black Tea
1/2 cup dried Orange zest

Black Lavender Tea
1 1/2 cups Black Tea
1/2 cup dried Lavender

Sage Orange Tea
1 1/2 cup Sage, whole or crushed
1/2 cup Orange zest

Herbal Tonic Tea
1/2 cup Stinging Nettle
1/2 cup Dandelion
1/2 cup Red Clover
1/2 cup Rose Buds

Combine each recipe and place in jar. Add in a box of tea bags or a cloth tea bag.Decorate with ribbon, stickers or offer a recipe card.

Goat cheese & Herbs
Yields 4 each 2 cup jars

16 small Fresh goat cheese rounds, Laura Chenel is local and delicious (Purchase at wholesale location such as Costco or Trader Joes)
6 cups Olive Oil
12 Bay Leaves
4 teaspoons mixed peppercorns, white, red and black
4 each 8 ounce Mason Jars, with lids or jar of choice

Sanitize jars by boiling in water. Remove from water and allow to cool. Fill each Jar 1/2 full with Olive oil. Gently place cheese in oil. Sprinkle with herbs and peppercorns and fill jar with remaining olive oil. Seal and keep refrigerated for up to 4 weeks. Enjoy.

Holiday Ideas for you to be creative!

Cake Mixes:
Either using your favorite recipe or boxed cake mix, re-mix into jars with a hand written recipe. Hand write the mix and the added ingredients. It is so much fun for kids!

For Chocolate, add dried cherries, walnuts or cranberries.
For White cake, add white chocolate chips or dried peaches.
For Brownies, add chocolate chips, pecans or peanut butter flavored chips.

Olive Mixes:
Purchase a selection of olives and remix them all in a large bowl. Add in bay leaves, dried thyme, fennel, coriander seeds, oregano, or fresh garlic. Keep refrigerated after mixing. The olives will hold for up to 4 weeks.

2 cups olives, 1 teaspoon dried herb of choice, sprinkle of chili flakes if desired.
2 cups olives, 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
2 cups olives, 1/2 teaspoon each fennel and orange zest

Decorate jars and offer a hand written card or recipe.
Serve olives with fresh baguettes & a glass of wine or ale.


Apple & Pear Cider
1 quart Apple or Pear Cider
4 sticks Cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon orange zest
Pour Apple and or Pear Cider into quart Mason Jar. Mix in Cinnamon sticks, cloves and orange. Keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks. Serve chilled or warm. Offer a hand made card and a suggestion to serve warm on a chilly evening.

Waffle and Pancake Mixes
Create your own pancake mix, follow a recipe or use Bisquick.
Re-mix quart jars with mix.
Add handmade recipe card and tie a bow around a wooden spoon or spatula.
This makes a great home gift to a neighbor.
