Welcome to The Epicurean Connection! Save the date, February 20-24, 2010 for the 8th annual Sonoma Valley Cheese Conference. Hosted by Sheana Davis, The Epicurean Connection, Sonoma California featuring Max McCalman, Dean of Curriculum at the Artisanal Cheese Center and author of The Cheese Plate; Cheese, a Connoisseur's Guide to the World's Best; and of Mastering Cheese; Ari Weinzweig, Co-Founder Partner & CEO, “Zingerman’s Community of Businesses”; Mateo Kehler, Cellars at Jasper Hill; Steven Rosenberg, Liberty Heights Fresh Chief Eating Officer; Judy Creigthon, Cheese Educator; Juliana Uruburu, The Pasta Shop; Janet Fletcher, Author and Cheese Columnist; Gordon Edgar, Rainbow Grocery Cooperative; Dee Harley, Harley Farms; Sam Mogannam, Bi Rite Market; Chris Sawyer, Sommelier with additional guests TBA. The annual travels to New Orleans continue as I will be in New Orleans for New Orleans Food & Wine Experience, along with a dinner at Savvy Gourmet, Cheese Tasting at St. James Cheese Shop, hosting a tour of live auction winners from the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation and much more! We have 6 trips on the books for 2010, which I look forward to sharing with each of you! This last Mardi Gras, my daughter and I stayed in New Orleans for a week and together we discovered new art projects, visit our friends and our New Orleans Family. It is a pleasure to be part of the rebuilding of one of our finest city's in our country. The city of New Orleans is filled with amazing cuisine, culture, music, characters and much more than I can put into words. I encourage each of you to visit New Orleans, participate in the rebuilding and support the citizens of New Orleans. I have met some of the most amazing people in my travels, we laugh, we cry, we have long conversations and I have never felt so welcome before. New Orleans, my home away from home is rebuilding and I invite each of you to visit the beautiful city. Please visit the events calendar as it is updated each week with new events for each of you to attend! In addition, each month, new recipes, culinary pairings, wine and cheese pairings, beer and cheese pairings and so much more are posted so please do enjoy the new additions to the website! Delice de la Vallee has arrived! January 2009, we launched at the Fancy Food Show! An original blend of cow and goat milk cheeses, created by Sheana Davis is available at National cheese shops, if you do not see it, please ask for it!
