by Sheana Davis, The Epicurean Connection 1 cup dried cherries, chopped coarsely 2
cups 2003 Coturri Winery Merlot, Maclise Vineyards ½ teaspoon fresh
thyme, chopped fine 1 bay leaf, whole Sprinkle of fresh ground black pepper
In
a heavy bottom pot, simmer all ingredients over a low flame unti cherries are
plump and wine is reduced to syrup. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Remove
bay leaf. Serve with a selection of Sonoma Valley Cheeses, fresh baked breads
and a glass of 2003 Coturri Winery Merlot, Maclise Vineyards.
